The Miss Carival Show which has been running for 31 years has been cancelled by the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) as the entity looks at restructuring the regional pageant.
Chairman of the CDC Ricardo Adams says that there are several reasons for not having the show this year including the fact that the show does not attract patrons like before.
“The CDC needs to review the event and look at what needs to be done in terms of making Miss Carival an attractive show buy
Also, the show is a very expensive event to put on and the CDC is currently not getting the returns. The event can cost the CDC upwards of EC$100,000.
