Miss Dominica - Leandra Lander

Leandra V Lander is 22 years of age and hails from the Dominica’s ‘Mecca’ of football Newtown Dominica, like the garnet, which is a long lasting and durable gem, with a fiery, ravishing beauty, she is consistent, persevering and hard working.

She is currently employed at her Alma Mater, The Convent High School. She possesses a deep Passion for teaching and has therefore decided to pursue an Associate Degree in Secondary Education at the Dominica State College.

She possesses a fond for music and hence is proud to be a member of both the Saint Alphonsus Junior Choir and the Sixth Form Sisserou Singers. She is also a former member of the Dominica Jaycees (JCI). 

In terms of her Pageant experience, she was the first runner up of the Miss Teen Dominica Pageant 2000 and placed 4th runner up at the Miss Mashramani International Pageant in Guyana in 2004 as well as the first Miss Caribbean World Pageant 2005 in Tortola.

On the night of February 16th 2007, Leandra won the title of Miss Dominica.

Leandra takes interest in reading West Indian Novels as well as murder mysteries.

‘Anything worth doing is worth doing well’.
