Twenty two Chosen for Fantastic Friday

Seven former calypso monarchs among the 22 persons selected for the 2009 calypso semifinals, when Fantastic Friday rolls around in two weeks.

Of the 22, nine performers are members of the On Tour Calypso Tnet who had their preliminary judging on June 4th. The semi finalists from On Tour include former monarchs Joy-C, Vibrating Scakes, Abijah and tent leader Ipa.The other On Tour members are Patches, Rastaman I, Reality, Roots Gordon and newcomer Spechie.

From the New York based Dynamites Calypso Tent former monarchs Rejector and De Man Age as well as John Dougan and Dennis Bowman are into the semis.

Graduates Calypso Tent has past winner Sulle, along with Black Messenger, Tajoe and Defoe.
From Upstage experience, rural Monarch Gosnel GC Cupid will join his daughter, multiple Junior champion Shaunelle Mackenzie and 2009 New Song winner Brother Ebony in the semis, and from the North/ South Tent, Zion I and Bosalt are the semi finalists.

The reserves are Super Dex from Graduates and Isa Jah from On Tour.
They will be backed by Nex Level and Ackess.
The calypsonians will perform one song in the semifinals and two in the July 5th finals.
