Junior Calypso/ Soca Finalists announced

The finalists for the Junior calypso/ soca monarch completion have already been released.
Eight students will come up against defending champion Terrancia ŌLittle TCÕ Cornwall in the Primary School competition, when the finals takes place at the Victoria Park on June 30th.


The finalists are Shade Barker of the Lodge Village Government School, Daniel Toussaint and Otis Cain of the Fair Hall Primary, Mehalia Williams of the South Rivers Primary, Nidia Jack of the Gregs Primary, Gaffeisha Smart of the Calder Goveryment, Rayshanna Giles of the Kingstown Preparatory and Cassie-anne Laidlow of the St. MaryÕs RC.


In the Secondary schools category Delano Matthews and Ayesha Matthews of the Campden Park Secondary, Phylicia Alexander of the Dr. JP Eustace Memorial Secondary, Kenley Baptiste of the Kingstown Technical Institute, Alexandra Small of the St. JosephÕs Convent Kingstown and Cassian Lavia of the Sandy Bay Secondary, will attempt to dethrone Daneisha Simmons of the BishopÕs College Kingstown.


The soca category, which promises to be highly competitive, will see Hans John trying to retasin his title againstJovica Veira of the Greggs primary Schol, Faylicia John and Daneisha Simmons of the BishopÕs College Kingstown, Ayesha Matthews and Oan Shepherd of the Campden Park Secondary, Philip Dember of the Union Island Secondary and Kurtney Pompey of the Sandy Bay Secondary.
