Williams Wins!

Veroniqe WilliamsWhen Miss SVG 2008 Ronique Dellimore handed over her crown and sceptre to the new queen, it was like handing them over to family, since the new winner and Dellimore share a common bond- their sponsor.

The DÕarcheville Construction Equipment Sales Caribbean Ltd sponsored Veronique Williams outshone seven other contestants, to take the 2009 title in front of as capacity crowd at Victoria Park.
This is the second straight year the St. Lucia based company is coming up trump.

Williams captured the Best Swimwear, Best Interview and, with her Sunset Bliss gown, the Best Evening Wear categories on her way to tons of prizes, among them a university scholarship.
The only judged category that slipped the grasp of Williams was the Best talent, this was taken by First Runner Up yasmeen Hadaway, who was sponsored by LIME.
A crowd favourite, Nickillia Slater Bridgewater got the judges nod for the Second Runner Up position.

Other winners on the night included Kristell Cambridge (Mustique Company) Miss Photogenic, Eshurnia Glasgow (Williams Agencies and Fragrances) Miss Congeniality, and peopleÕs choice through texting Yasmeen Hadaway (LIME).

The other constestants were Tenille Austin (FirstCaribbean International Bank; who received a trophy for the most community spirited contestant), Kimorra Lavia (Super 6) and Asmara Whiskey (Caribbean Medical IMaging Center).

The pageant with its theme A Combination of Passion and Brilliance lived up to its expected hype and is usually used as an indication as to what is in store for the other events, when Carnival action gets in full swing on June 26th.

Williams will be seen in action again, at the Miss Carival Pageant on July 3rd.
