After topping the points in the Best use of Color, and Uptown Competition, and placing second in the Individual of the Year category at Mardi Gras, and previously taking the Junior Carnival title, KFC SVG Players were once again adjudged MAs Band of The year.
With their 2008 presentation Exotica: Wonders of Nature, Players amassed 560 points to take the top spot, narrowly edging out Digicel Nelson Bloc by six points with their production of Shanghai Nights.
Blondie Bird and Friends took the third spot with 538 points for their presentation Party in Space, with Mirage ProductionsÕ Funtasia coming fourth and Dragons Cultural Organisation presentation of Beauty and Culture of South America placing fifth.
Players were also adjudged the best mas band on the streets of Kingstown, ahead of Nelson Bloc, with Dragons third, Blondie Bird fourth and Mirage Productions Fifth.
Gordon Boucher, the King of the Band candidate portraying Immortal Chatoyer for Melbourne Artisans was judged Individual of the Bands with 551 points, two points ahead of Jenilee Glasgow and her portrayal of PlayersÕ Exotic Bird of Paradise.
Third place went to Andrew Sutherland of Dragons, with Simone Richardson of Blondie Bird placing fourth and Nelson BlocÕs Andre Browne fifth.
