Fireman aiming at super seven

Come July 5^th 2008, six time Soca Monarch Champion will have his hands full as he attempts to put out a blaze that is surely burning in the seventeen soca artistes eying his title.

The Fireman has already promised his fans that he will be retaining the title for the seventh time, but one can be assured that his contenders will not be making it easy.

The cream of the crop will converge at the Victoria Park on Saturday after a grueling semifinals competition on June 29^th, which saw 35 artistes battling for a spot in the finals.

The artistes are Problem Child, Zoelah, Skarpyon, Poorsah, Coyaba, Fire Empress, Skinny Fabulous, Homey, Icon, Danielle Viera, Dani O, Lively, KGB, Alla G, Demus, Maddzart and Bomani.

Apart from the lucrative cash prizes, the winner gains entry in the International Soca Monarch Competition, which takes place in Trinidad and Tobago.
