Considered the most anticipated part of Carnival festivities, this yearÕs JÕouvert did not disappoint participants and on lookers alike, who turned out in their thousands onto the streets of Kingstown during the early hours of Monday morning.
Competing in various categories, masqueraders as usual came up with new and innovative ideas which they appear to be eager to display as if waiting all year for the moment.
And as usual it was the JÕouvert Fanatics who led the way, winning all categories that they competed in.
These included the JÕouvert King portraying Airport Check List, followed by VAT by Green Hill Cultural And Sports Club and House Bills bY Sharpes Massive.
In the Queen Division Fanatics won with Tips For Miss SVG, followed by Bee Mobile and Shouting Labour third.
Fanatics also won Individuals of JÕouvert with Crab Search, second was Witch Craft and Ghost in the Police Force third.
Fanatics won Couples of JÕouvert with Legal Team first, balance me second nd Wine and Lick Her third, and portraying Reclassification the Fanatics also came out ahead followed by Well Nest Revolution.
The paint band division was won by Digicel Red Dawn.
MondayÕs competition was considered one of the more keenly contested in recent times.
