Dellimore Does The Double

 

23 year Ronique Dellimore did host country St. Vincent and the Grenadines proud when she was crowned Miss Carival 2008 at the 24^th hosting of the beauty pageant on Friday July 4^th at Carnival City Victoria Park.

Dellimore, who was crowned Miss SVG on June 29^th, overcame competition from 12 other Caribbean beauties to take the title which was last held by a Vincentian in 2005 (Casynella Olivierre).

The LIAT employee walked away with the best swimwear category; a feat which she accomplished in the national pageant, and gave a formidable account of herself in the other categories.

Dellimore was crowned by 2007 winner Dominican Leandra Lander after taking the top spot ahead of Melessa Payne, the representative from Guyana.

Miss Jamaica Monique Prescott was judged Second Runner Up, and Katrina Geetooah of Trinidad and Tobago the Third Runner Up.

Geetooah was also the winner of the Best Evening Wear, with Payne taking the Most Community Spirited award, and Prescott the Best Interview and Best Talent.

Other award winners were Miss St. Lucia Soriah John voted Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic Dominican Marah Walter.

A number of guest artistes graced the stage; including Bomani, Dennis Bowman Dani O, Shanel Nanton andthe Cuban band Abete.

Friday night’s event also saw the judging of the Sections of the Bands competition which was won by blondie Bird and Friends, with their presentation of  Aliens from Party in Space.
