CALYPSO SYMPOSIUM 2008

The 2008 Calypso Symposium was presented by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Calypsonian Association Inc. and the Carnival Development Corporation on Saturday 1^st and Sunday 2^nd March 2008 at the University of the West Indies Center, Richmond Hill.

Topics were inclusive of:

1. The Production and Marketing of the Calypso art form [including its components (Soca / Ragga)].  The resource person was Mr. Richard Mc Leish.

2. Musical Preparation – resource person was Mr. Joffre Venner.

3. Management of Calypso Tents and Production of Calypso Tent Shows – resource person was Mr. Joel Providence.

4. Judging of the Art form in competition – resource persons were Mr. Victor Peters, Mr. Clive Bishop and Mr. Earl Paynter.

Sessions were very informative, well received and well attended.
