Miss Carival 2011 Press Release

Press conference Tuesday June 21st 2011- 10.00 a.m.- FIRST CITIZENS MISS CARIVAL 2011 ON FRIDAY JULY 1ST 2011 AT 8.00 P.M.

It is my pleasure to update you on the prestigious, the Caribbean’s premier pageant- the FIRST CITIZENS MISS CARIVAL 2011.
Over the past months, my Committee and I have been working tirelessly towards the staging of MISS SVG and MISS CARIVAL pageants. Following the successful staging of MISS SVG 2011 on Sat. May 28th all our efforts are focused on MISS CARIVAL.
21 countries were sent invitation letters; and they were informed that the CDC’s policy of 9 first-come-first served overseas contestants will be accepted if they registered by June 1st 2011.

I am pleased to say that for the first time in several years registration forms, bios, photos, and other important information were received well ahead of June 1st 2011. Hence, the reason for our being able to present to you, the members of the media, long before this press conference. Photos are also out at SINGER in Kingstown. I am happy to report that plans are well in place for the staging of MISS CARIVAL 2011 ON Friday July 1st at 8.00 p.m
.

The countries have been sent travel itinerary. MISS DOMINICAN  REPUBLIC  will arrive in the State on Sunday June 26th and 8 other countries will arrive on Monday June 27th . Of course, MISS AVIAR CHARLES, MISS SVG 2011 will represent SVG, making a total of 10 contestants.

Come July 1st, we are promising you a show with a difference, a show to remember, a show of class, a smooth production with a reasonable finish time. The contestants need your support. Let us demonstrate to them how loving and caring Vincentians really are. We are convinced that many of the countries that participating in MISS CARIVAL take back with them several fond memories of SVG and its special people.
“The happiest people do not always have the best of everything… they just make the best of everything.”
This is HAIROUNA, LAND OF THE BLESSED. Let us strive to live up to our name each day we open our eyes. “To accomplish great things, we must not only dream, but act, we must not only plan, but believe.”
WE believe in our limitless God and his promises that we will receive when we ask. We see Him at work in our midst every day. This is why we ask you now to join with us in prayer for good weather.
Heb. 11: 1“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for, will actually happen; it gives us the assurance about things we cannot see.”
In closing let me take this opportunity to congratulate the 10 finailsts who will compete ffor the Calypso Monarch at Dimarche Gras. Let me wish the components successful shows. Let me wish everyone a safe and fun filled Carnival. We can enjoy ourselves while maintaining a high level of self –respect and dignity. Ladies, self-respect and dignity. Gentlemen, self-respect and respect for the ladies. Remember your Mom was/ is a Lady. Children, remember that in God’s sight you are His children. You are still children.
Thank you. God bless you today and always.
