Soca Monarch 2011

Soca monarch fans will have entertainment galore tonight Saturday July 2nd as 18 local soca acts take to Carnival City Victoria Park where they will compete in the annual soca monarch competition.

The event which is the biggest event on this country’s cultural calendar will see three time reigning soca monarch champion Gamal ‘Skinny Fabulous’ Doyle with his 2011 hit ‘The Cave’ come up against 17 of the country’s best entertainers.

Commencing at 9:00 pm, patrons will here from, Lawrence ‘ Koyaba’ Jack (Granpa Cocoa), Montgomery ‘Demus’ LaBorde (Dis is Madness), Jamaal ‘Fimba’ Jardine (Me nah eat), Lornette ‘Fya Empress’ Nedd (Delinquent), Delroy ‘Fireman’ Hooper (Animal), James ‘Jamesy P’ James (No Prisoners), Godfrey Dublin (Any number cud play), Godwin ‘Gao’ Oliver (Noon), Edison ‘Lively’ Mc Dowall (Tek dat), Hance John (Jump), Raeon ‘Maddzart’ Primus (Flock up di place), St Clair ‘Donkey Man’ Lewis (Georgetown mash up), Armstrong ‘Strong’ Williams (Tie me), Dennis Bowman (Do what ah want), Shertz ‘Problem Child’ James (We miserable), Shernelle ‘Skarpyon’ Williams (Like it) and Travis ‘Wiz Kid’ Lynch (Hype up).

The event is expected to begin at 9 pm. Sharp.
