Junior Carnival

Fourteen Mas Bands will on Saturday June 30thvie for the coveted Sylvia Wilson Junior Band of the Year title when the 2012 Junior/Kiddies Carnival competition comes off at Carnival City Victoria Park.

The 14 Mas bands that will be fighting for the coveted Junior Band of the Year title are Ahdrenalin Mas- " Sutra", Beautex International- " Caribbean Craft Market", Digicel Nelson Bloc in association with Hitz 103.7 and Carib Beer- "Dat is Sos"- A tribute to Winston Soso,
Extreme Fanatics- " Mystical Voyage", Guinness Y De Lima Hitz 103.7 Blondie Bird & Friends- " A Glimpse of Kingstown" ,Hairoun Sting Power Tribes Mas Band- " Journey to Ancient Egypt" , Hitz 103.7 Owen Ralph & the Professionals- " Celebration in St. Vincent & the Grenadines", Imagination- "Things We Dream of...",
KFC Heineken Dragons in association with the News, CK Greaves and Hot 97.1- "Touch- A tribute to Vinci Music",
Lynx Mas Band- " Aztec Civilizations", Melbourne Artisans- " Totem Pole Indians of the Americans", Metrocint Vincentian Hairoun High Voltage- " Making of the Caribbean Civilization", Mirage Productions-" Forbidden Fantasies", SVG Players International- " Come Fly with We".

Last Year Blondie Bird and Friends portraying 'Nature's Fury' was awarded the Junior Band of the Year title.
SVG Players International' "At the Movies" was second while Dragons was third with "Journey through the silk road."

Blondie Bird and Friends also secured the Junior King of Carnival category with "Tsunami" portrayed by Jelani Niles and placed first for Best Junior Section with 'Sunspot'. Blondie Bird also placed second in the Individual 5-9 and 10-15 categories with "Tsunami" and "Tornado" respectively.

The Junior Queen of Carnival title was won in 2011 by SVG Players International with their production "Alice in Wonderland" portrayed by Renisha Rose. They also placed third in the Individual 5-9 category with "Sound of Music" and 1st in the Individual 10-15 category with "Cleopatra" portrayed by Gabrielle Bailey.

Dragons also placed third in the Junior Queen of Carnival category with "Journey through the shifting sand" portrayed by Kalia Phillips. Mirage Production placed second with "Ice Queen" portrayed by Na' Lexus Browne.

The best band in the uptown competition was Nelson Bloc with their production "From our Caribbean Garden. SVG Players International was second with 'At the movies' while Dragons was third with "Journey through the Silk Road." Mirage productions and "White Darnkess" were forth position while Blondie Bird and Friends was fifth with "Nature's Fury."
