It will be entertainment galore on Friday June 29th when the 2012 National Ragga Soca Monarch Competition kicks off marking the official beginning of Vincy Mas 2012.
Eleven artistes have been chosen to take part in the National Ragga Soca Monarch Competition which will be held at Carnival City Victoria Park. Apart from these artistes, patrons will be entertained by guest artiste Jamaican dancehall sensation Garfield 'Konshens' Spence.
Konshens is known for hits like 'Bubble gal ah bubble' 'Winner', 'Rasta Impostor', 'This Means Money', 'Good Girl Gone Bad', 'Gal Dem A Talk', 'Realest Song', 'Pon Di Corner', 'Represent', 'Do Sumn' and 'Forward'.
Meanwhile, competing this year for the Ragga Soca crown are Orande 'Bomani' Charles (Sagga Boy), Lornette 'Fya Empress' Nedd (Bam Bam Talk), Tamisha Nicholls (Talk), Danielle Veira (Tell me), Zoelah Boyde (Jack it up), Cornelius 'Poorsah' Williams (Knocking Plate), Frankie 'Wise Guy' Thompson (Bumper tun over), Phil 'Dr. P' DaSilva (Carnival), Eghorne 'Troblous' Alexander (Don't let go), Aurella 'Queen B' Beache (Nice and Sweet), Shaunelle McKenzie (Ruff Rider), Godwin 'Gao' Billy (Only money she want), Troots and Ice (Sweet for so), Hance John (Down Dey) and Reaon 'Madzart' Primus (Woman love married man).
Last year's Ragga Soca competition was won by Skarpyon.
