MISS SVG 2012- 2.6.12,

MISS SVG 2012 will be held at Carnival City, Victoria Park on Saturday June 2nd 2012 at 8.00 p.m.
The Carnival Development Corporation through its Beauty Shows Committee is pleased to advise that 8 finalists have been selected from a number of applicants which were interviewed in August 2011. Training for all contestants commenced on August 15th 2011:
MONDAYS: MEET WITH TALENT CO-ORDINATORS- MR KERRY OTTLEY AND MR DELANO CHARLES
TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS: WALKING, ON STAGE PRESENTATION, POISE, CARRIAGE, POSTURE,EXERCISE WITH MRS JUNE HUGGINS AND SEAN FREDERICK
WEDNESDAYS- PUBLIC SPEAKING WITH MR FREDERICK FORBES
FRIDAYS-INTERVIEW PREPARATION WITH MRS MURIEL FRASER AND MRS ERNESTINE SUTHERLAND
SATURDAYS-PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, GROOMING AND IMAGE DEVELOPMENT, CONFIDENCE BUILDING, SELF ESTEEM WITH MRS CHERYL RODRIGUEZ
OTHER AREAS COVERED IN THE VARIOUS SESSIONS INCLUDE:
PROFESSIONAL MAKE-UP TECHNIQUES, WARDROBE SELECTION, COMMUNICATION AND BODY LANGUAGE SKILLS, SOCIAL GRACES, PERSONAL HYGIENE AND NUTRITION.
THE MISSION OF THE BEAUTY SHOWS COMMITTEE IS :
TO PREPARE THE CONTESTANTS FOR EVERY FACET OF COMPETITION, WHILE ASSISTING THEM TO GAIN A SENSE OF EMPOWERMENT, SELF WORTH AND SELF CONFIDENCE TO ACHIEVE THE ULTIMATE LEVEL OF SUCCESS IN THEIR LIVES.
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE BEAUTY SHOWS COMMITTEE ARE:
1. DEVELOP AND COACH CONTESTANTS TO ACHIEVE TOP PLACES IN LOCAL, REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PAGEANTS.
2. COVER A VARIETY OF AREAS SPECIFIC TO PAGEANT COMPETITION
3. ASSIST CONTESTANTS TO DEVELOP SKILLS THAT WILL BE BENEFICIAL TO THEM IN THEIR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIVES.Contestants are getting used to being taken out as a group as they paid their first visit to Miss Jean Duncan at her home at Prospect on Saturday February 11th 2012 at 4.00 p.m.
They met the Chairman and Board of Directors of the CDC at a ceremony on Thursday March 1st 2012 at 5.30 p.m.at the CDC's Boardroom, Victoria Park.
All contestants have been sponsored and the MAS Bands have picked the contestants for whom they will make costumes for the introductory appearance.
A Programme of Activities has been established to allow members of the public to meet and greet contestants in the coming months. Their first public appearance will be at the official launching of VINCY MAS 2012 on May 5th 2012.
Please join with us proud Vincentians as we prepare to crown a new Ambassador who will represent SVG in MISS CARIVAL 2012 on July 6th 2012.
MISS AVAIR CHARLES is the reigning MISS SVG 2011. Aviar will participate in a pageant in Tortola in May 2012.
MISS CARIVAL 2012
To date several countries have confirmed their participation in MISS CARIVAL 2012 which will be held on Friday July 6th at Victoria Park.
9 first-come, first-served overseas countries along with MISS SVG 2012 making a total of 10 contestants will compete in MISS CARIVAL 2012.
Contestants will arrive in the State on Monday July 2nd 2012 and leave on Saturday July 7th 2012.
During their stay in SVG, members of the public will be given the opportunity to meet and greet all contestants.
The reigning MISS CARIVAL is IANTAVIAN QUEELEY of St Kitts and Nevis.
