My name is Nelicia Thomas and I am from the beautiful island of Mayreau. I am 22 years old. My education began at the Mayreau Government School. Thereafter I moved to St. Vincent to attend St. Joseph's Convent Kingstown where I was actively involved in the choir, drama club, athletics and netball. After leaving St. Joseph's Convent I went to the St. Vincent Technical College where I obtained a certificate in Business Administration. I am currently employed as a Customer Service Agent at the nation's number one mobile and internet provider, Cable & Wireless.
Leaving my family at 11 was difficult for me but even at that early age I kept my future goals in mind and this motivated me and made the transition more bearable. Additionally living with people, other than my family, gave me invaluable insight into different ways of life and helped me determine what kind of life I wanted to lead. It also made me appreciate my family life even more.
Although I am currently living on the mainland and have made many friends here and have had amazing opportunities my most cherished memories are those of my beloved island, Mayreau. From a very young age my love was the sea and my passion was swimming and, as I got older I thoroughly enjoyed island hopping between the Grenadine islands. Life on the mainland is definitely different to that on my Grenadine island, and if given the opportunity to choose Mayreau would be my first choice.
My ultimate goal is to operate a five-star hotel on Mayreau employing mostly people from my beloved island.
I am a fun-loving person with a great personality. I think that in one way or another I am capable of making everyone around me smile. To me, family and friends are very valuable gifts, and I strive to do my best for them at all times.
