My name is Tessica Cupid and I am from the village of Park Hill. I currently attend the St.Vincent Community College.
I lived with my grandmother from the tender age of 3 and I was 17 when she migrated to the USA leaving me to live on my own. It was not easy but it is an experience that I do not regret for it taught me self-reliance, how to run a home and how to cope with every day challenges. Although I managed quite well on my own I still missed that family interaction so I was very happy when, in 2004, my 24-year-old brother moved in with me.
My passion is physical fitness and to maintain my health I run, cycle and dance. I am involved in athletics at the national level and have represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines internationally from 2000 to 2004.
My introduction to dance came when I was asked to perform at a function. Although I was nervous I performed to the best of my ability and enjoyed myself on stage so much that dancing has now become part of my life.
I am enrolled in the Physical Education Program at the St. Vincent Community College and have recently taken the practical examinations in both dance and athletics. Combining my studies with preparation for Miss SVG 2007 is a challenge in time management, discipline and dedication which I am sure I will relish.
I am also a firm believer in getting young people involved in positive activities. I work as a dance instructor with youth in my community and have also helped one of our local dance groups in Park Hill prepare for the 2006 Gospel Festival.
