Devon Greene - Miss Lotto

Devon Greene Biography

My name is Devon Barshebar Greene. I was born to Cheryl Greene and David Scott on the 19th June 1987 under the astrological sign of Gemini. I grew up in a single-parent family on the leeward coast of the island in the small village of Buccament Bay. I am the older of 2 children; I have one sister.

The Buccament Bay Primary School is where I gained my educational foundation. I then went on to the Intermediate High School where I gained 5 CXC passes. I currently attend the St. Vincent Technical College where I am pursuing a 2-year Course in Hospitality.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, listening to music, modeling, going to the beach, shopping and interacting with people of diverse backgrounds. My favourite colours are black and white. Black because it stands out and makes the wearer look slim and elegant and white because it symbolizes purity. One of my role models is Mary J. Blige because she inspires me to be exactly who I am.

In the near future I wish to become an Interior Designer. The main reason that I would like to make interior design my career is that I believe that while every room should always look exquisitely beautiful it should also make every person that enters it comfortable. Creating a room that is beautiful, functional and comfortable at the same time is a challenge that I enjoy.

As a young woman I dislike the way men treat women in today's society but feel that as women we bear some responsibility for allowing ourselves to be disrespected. I am concerned about the way in which young women allow themselves to be treated by men because they lack of respect for themselves. I firmly believe that if as a society we can teach young women to respect themselves and their bodies that we will have less teenage pregnancies less teenage crime.

I chose to enter the Miss SVG Pageant because it has been one of my biggest childhood dreams. I also hope it will help to build my seif-confidence and provide me with an opportunity to further my studies .
