The Biography of Ronique Dellimore

Miss Darcheville Construction Equipment Ltd

I am an ambitious, energetic and loving individual who is focused on achieving my goals in life. Born on the 21st of April 1985 to Clive and Dawn Dellimore, I am the second of three children and the only girl.

My early childhood education started at the Marinda Daycare and continued at the Vinsave Daycare Centre. I then attended the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School. There is where the moral values, which were initially instilled by my parents, were further strengthened.

When the time came to decide on the secondary school I would attend I wanted to choose one that would allow the values and standards that I had begun developing to continue to grow. The St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown was therefore a natural choice.

Whilst attending St. Joseph’s Convent, I was active in many extra curricular activities which in turn meant that I had to be very organized. I had to balance my academic studies and my involvement in the school’s steel orchestra, the choir, net ball athletics and any other extra curricular activities I could find. At that stage in my life everyone knew me as a jovial and energetic person who was always well occupied.

My education continued at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Technical College, where I successfully completed studies in Business Administration. During my first year, I was elected Vice President of the Student Body and the following year I was elected President. As President, aided by a team of Executive Members, the near dormant Student Council was revived; we made sure that the concerns of the students were addressed as a matter of priority. A few of the projects we worked on include the revival of the Miss SVTCC Pageant and the organization of an annual barbeque and car wash. I enjoyed myself immensely and learned a lot about myself during my tenure at this institution.

As a child I was definitely considered a ‘tomboy’. I did most things that young boys would do.  On one occasion, I recall as I sped my bike along the public road I actually collided with a minibus. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, but I do remember trembling for hours afterwards. Looking back on it all however I can see that those ‘tom boy’ years have made me the well rounded individual that I am today.

Growing up, no one, not even I, would ever have thought that I’d be entering a pageant of any kind. However after much careful consideration, the opportunity to be an ambassador for my country and the ability to further my education were the main factors in my decision to enter the Miss SVG Pageant.

I am currently employed at LIAT (1974) Ltd. - the Caribbean Airline, which is one of the premiere institutions responsible for integrating our region. I am an Administrative Assistant which gives me first hand work experience that will be a great asset to me when I go on to pursue my next goal of a Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies at the University of the West Indies. My job, although administrative in its objective, affords me the opportunity to meet many of our Caribbean neighbours and other international visitors to our shores.

Having the strong influence of my maternal grandmother while growing up has given me a greater sense of my responsibility to the elderly. Over the last year I have done some volunteer work with an elderly lady in my community. I have been able to experience the simple pleasure that our senior citizens feel from a gesture as easy as a visit from a young person. It is my plan to expand my volunteer work by, among other things, visiting with more senior citizens in our community.
