The
Biography of Karen Whiskey
Miss
Grenadine House
I was born in 1989 at the Kingstown General
Hospital; the first born of Kendall and Catherine Whiskey. I spent the first
four years of my life in Frenches and then my family and I moved to Calliaqua
where we have lived ever since. I was a typical little girl who had a tomboy
streak; I loved to play dollhouse but I also loved to play cricket in the
street. My favourite day as a child was Sunday because that was the assigned
“Beach Day” by my parents.
I attended the Brighton Primary School. My
favourite subjects in primary school were Grammar and Integrated Science. I
then attended St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown. While there I entered the Miss
SJCK Pageant and was adjudged the Second Runner-up. I left St. Joseph’s Convent
with passes in English, Math, Social Studies, Integrated Science, Food and
Nutrition, and Principles of Business. While in secondary school my focus
changed slightly for while I still enjoyed English I also developed a love for
the subject Food and Nutrition.
After leaving secondary school I was first
employed with Harland Integrated Services, a market research firm, conducting
surveys for various companies. I am presently employed at Photo Max as a
Customer Representative.
I still enjoy going to the beach but most
of my spare time is now spent singing. For the past year and a half I have also
been a member of the Le-Andre Modeling Agency which has helped to improve my
interpersonal and social skills.
My future goals include obtaining my
teaching qualification and a degree in Child Psychology. It is my wish to be a
teacher of upper primary or lower secondary school students.
